A blog to update the public about the training progress of team members on Team Brainrunners, the Alzheimer Society of B.C. team for the Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon & 5K Group Charity Challenge on Sunday, June 26, 2011. This event is a unique opportunity for runners and walkers to help us raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, the work we do at the Society, and the importance of brain health. To date we have raised over $86,000!

Meet the Team Brainrunners team captain!
Hi I'm Janis McKell and this is my first half-marathon. Well actually this is my first competitive race since highschool. So now you know where I'm coming from. I work within the Alzheimer Society of B.C. and I am excited to take part in this event as a participant and a fundraiser! the idea came to me through a challenge from someone else, and I have now made it my personal goal to finish for the sake of raising awareness about Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Join me and out team members as we blog about our training goals, struggles, and anything that pops up along the way.
